Worth it
I love this device, very user friendly and i can’t find any negative about it. Great price when I bought it and two thumbs up!
Very good but not great
I bought the 650 for my mother after owning the 660 for about a year. I found I didn’t use the Bluetooth or FM transmitter features at all and figured she wouldn’t either. I find the navigation to be very good but less accurate than the Magellan NeverLost systems I’ve used in rental cars. The Nuvi frequently wants to route me off the highway and thru towns that I know will be much slower. Also, it doesn’t take into account traffic lights and stop signs, so you can’t trust the estimated arrival time it displays.
I use it in the car and on planes to listen to podcasts I’ve downloaded to it, so the dual use is especially wonderful. I found the photo viewer quite poor in that it doesn’t reliably display the pictures full-screen. Also annoying is the warning screen that pops up every time you turn the unit on, whether or not you’re moving. No other type of electronic device warns you not to use it while you’re driving; it’s just stupid, clumsy blather.
Another poor design aspect is the fact that when you lock the interface to avoid accidental touches, the Nuvi displays a static message that it’s locked–even when you are navigating. Instead, it should just display the navigation or audio controls with the screen darkened to save battery life. There are plenty of times that I would be happy to use the thing in darkened and locked mode but the display is useless. Last, the Nuvi should still work while it’s charging or connected by USB like a cell phone does, but instead it displays a static image.
Great GPS; very User-friendly; good battery life
Purchased this GPS about two months ago and have taken it on several trips. It picks up satellite signal much better than my previous GPS. It is very easy to use and self explanatory. The battery life seems to be very adequate. I have already found a few businesses that no longer exist that are listed. It would be nice if you had a free update for one year. This GPS is small enough to carry in your pocket if needed.

TOM TOM Affordable GPS
I only rated it 4 stars because it doesn’t announce the street names. They are printed on the screen as you pass them however. You will need to update this unit if you buy it new. There are a few streets here in Houston that deviate a little from the map, but you can make corrections as you go. I wanted a unit that was user friendly (it didn’t take a geek to use it)and was affordable. There are better units out there with all the bells and whistles, but be prepared to pay for them. This one is fantastic in bang for the buck and cheaper than most and my directionally challenged family members can work it with no problem at all. Features like widescreen, etc might be nice for some, but for me I just wanted to be reminded when to turn and directed to my selected location at under $175 it has no equal; if price is $199 or more there are some other units to consider.
Used Everyday for Business
I bought this item for use in my business having liked it while working part time for another company.Taking customer calls on the go and then navigating to there residence has not been a problem.It very rarely cannot find an address.And when it can’t I assume its due to a neede down load map yearly update.I would highly recommend the Tom Tom One to any one needing a GPS for Business or pleasure.

New Features — Where Am I? Where’s My Car?
The n?vi 700 series is the first to answer two common questions: “Where am I?” and “Where’s my car?”
At any time, with a single tap of the screen, drivers can display their exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and gas stations. And to help drivers find their car in an unfamiliar spot or vast parking lot, all n?vi 700s automatically mark the position in which they were last removed from the mount.
New Features — Multi-Destination Routing
This lets you enter several spots into the device (day care – supermarket-cleaners – office – day care, for example) and it will plot the fastest route. And once you’ve found the best router, the “Route Planning” feature lets you save up to 10 different routes, Garmin touts the feature for providing, “the most efficient route for errands, deliveries and sales calls.” The feature also makes this an instant essential accessory for anyone who shops garage sales (you know what we’re talking about).
A trip log provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10,000 points, so you can see where you’ve been on the map.

Design Garmin GPS
With a total weight of 5.1 ounces and slim measurements of 3.87 x 2.91 x 0.87 inches (WxHxD), the n?vi 350 is just right for the pocket or purse. A bright, 64,000-color display dominates the front of the device and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels means that there’s plenty of room for displaying map data and other elements of the device’s interface. An SD memory card slot is provided for expansion software, such as a points of interest database, media files and electronic guides (see below). The flip-up antenna includes an MCX-type connector for connecting the unit to an external GPS antenna. Meanwhile, a powerful built-in speaker resides on the back of device. A built-in lithium ion battery will give you for to eight hours of battery life, depending on use. In addition to an AC charger, the unit also ships with a 12-volt power adapter for vehicle charging, as well as a windshield suction cup mount.
Fortunately, Garmin has made it easy to interface with the n?vi 350’s 700 megabytes of onboard memory, thanks to “plug-and-play” USB mass storage support. Just plug the device into your computer’s USB port and you’ve got instantaneous access to all the audio books, music, photos, supplemental maps and other data on the n?vi 350’s internal and SD card memory.

The n?vi 350 is first and foremost a personal GPS device. Plus, the unique “text-to-speech” feature calls out turns by street name, and you can choose from either 2D or 3D mapping perspectives when you’re viewing your route on the display. Tools for the Journey
Navigation is just part of the journey, and the n?vi 350 is one of the first devices to recognize that. The built-in “Travel Kit” offers an MP3 player, an audio book player from Audible.com, a jpeg-format picture viewer, a world travel clock with time zones, a currency converter, a measurement converter, and a calculator.
In addition to the included travel tools, additional software add-ons are available, such as the Garmin Language Guide, with data provided by Oxford University Press. This software suite contains a multilingual word bank, phrase bank, and five bilingual dictionaries. The multilingual word bank and phrase bank supports nine languages and dialects, including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. Now you can look up and translate more than 17,000 words or 20,000 phrases per language — right in the palm of your hand. Through the unit’s text-to-speech interface, users can get a spoken pronunciation of each entry in the word bank, along with gender and part of speech information.
Another useful add-on software package, the Garmin Travel Guide, is loaded with information provided by Marco Polo.
